American Chemical Society award recognizes pioneering work on the development of targeted covalent drugs which have had a transformative impact on the treatment of cancer patients

Southborough MA, Aug. 23, 2015  – Ankaa Therapeutics, a leader in developing targeted small molecule drugs for personalized therapy, today announced that the Company's President and Chief Scientific Officer has been selected by the American Chemical Society as the recipient of the 2016 George and Christine Sosnovsky Award for Cancer Research.

The award, sponsored by the George and Christine Sosnovsky Endowment Fund, aims to recognize outstanding achievements in the elucidation of the chemical and biochemical pathways underlying human cancers, leading to the discovery and development of improved cancer therapeutics.

Dr. Singh has been recognized because of his pioneering research on the discovery and development of targeted covalent drugs.

"I am extremely honored to receive this prestigious research award from the American Chemical Society," Dr. Singh said. "This recognition highlights the impact of targeted covalent drugs which have revolutionized the treatment of lung cancer and leukemia/lymphoma.  I’d also like to acknowledge my colleagues and friends at Avila Therapeutics/Celgene Avilomics Research who worked hard to advance these therapeutics”.

The award will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in conjunction with the 251st ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA
